I can do everything in God

I can do everything through him who gives me strength. (Philippians 4:13)

※ 해설

What my father recommended me as a motto in my young days is "Yes, I can". This phrase implies that we have to be confident in our works. I think it is valid only in the case such that God helps us. However, I would like to confess as follows: "I can do nothing, but God can do everything". Thus, the motto should be changed into "Yes, God can".

어린 시절 저의 아버지가 제게 추천해 주셨던 모토는 "Yes, I can"이었습니다. 이 구절은 모든 일에서 자신감을 가져라는 의미지요. 저는 하나님께서 우리를 돕는다면 이 모토가 여전히 타당하다고 생각합니다. 하지만 저는 다음과 같이 고백하고 싶습니다. "나는 아무것도 할 수 없습니다, 하지만 하나님은 모든 것을 하십니다." 그러므로, 그 모토는 다음과 같이 바뀌어야만 할 것입니다. "Yes, God can".
